Droid Spy is a phone application which you can download on to any Android operating system which will allow you to view tasks in which the phone has been performing. In all reality this is a way to see someone’s track marks which you would not normally be able to see because they deleted texts etc.

There are all sorts of ways of hiding your actions, sure you could check the phone bill records but not all of us have the luxury of having that access. Particularly if you are in a relatively new relationship where you are not sure exactly where things are heading but there has definitely been some time and investment.

Time and investment that you do not want to loose.

The Droid Spy App will allow you to see a person’s call log, messages, and it also allows you to have GPS tracking so that you can see the person’s exact location in real time.

If you are having suspicious feelings inside yourself that something is just not right or you feel as though that your partner is being dishonest. Perhaps this would be a great way to really monitor or get validated either way.

This by far is one of the coolest technology advances I’ve seen with the latest cell phone mania. A personal favorite. In addition to frustration when it comes to receiving attachments and downloading things can be challenging on your iphone or android.

Samsung Fascinate Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)

Always having to keep track of a jump drive/thumb drive can be most aggravating too, especially if you’re having to carry  jump drive/thumb drive everywhere or those unexpected moments when you need to print off a document.

Motorola DROID II Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)

This new app/program called “Drop Box” allows you to send the signal of printing a document via bluetooth to your printer- with your cell phone. Now the program needs to be on the computer which is connected to your printer. Slight down side. But hey could quickly download from internet to any computer (say in a computer lab ) if you were in a real hurry.

Samsung Captivate Android Phone (AT&T)

Having all your data in your phone or at least in your email would save tons of trouble!! Be sure to read up on “Drop Box” so that you may have it for your very own!

Dang, it sure does suck when you don’t have your phone anymore. All those day to day conveniences and connectedness ends up being this total VOID! But then anger kicks in when someone steals your shit and you’re out two hundred dollar phone and your passwords- along with your bank account info.

For a thief who steals someone’s iPhone or Android it ends up being similar to hitting the lotto. Passwords, emails, text messages and access to just about anything everything else. With no work involved and more than likely minimum risk.

For many phone users they do not even think about any of this. There actual apps out there for Android, iPhone, and Blackberry (which will be out soon) that you can purchase which will add a tracking to stolen phone. Many people do not jump on this, I’m assuming because it costs money on top of phone insurance which totally adds up. It all adds up- plus the economy being what it is just adds to the reluctance, gotta save wherever you can.

Motorola droid 2 is out and there are some really cool features unlike the last version. There are some serious pluses to the latest droid.

• Allows you to organize and play back media files that were either purchased or from the phone’s memory card itself.
• Apps like Windows Media Player allows you to sync songs
• The battery is pretty bad ass in that smartphones always seem to die quickly. This batter with normal talking time is about a day and half. About two days with light talking use.

Cell phone technology has taken off, it has blasted off is more like it, blown UP. Smartphones and the ongoing love hate relationship between Google and Apple seem to really feed off of one another and create lots of new programs. Of course the obvious difference between the two which is what sets them apart is the open system (Google) and the closed system (Apple). Yet with all  these new advances there are some questions arising. The biggest is security! More and more apps are now able to gain access to vital information such as passwords, bank info, etc.

Quite a few experts have been analyzing such issues. The question that was sparked was which platform is safer? Let’s begin with the different types of phones:

• Blackberry aka “Crackberry” – Limits users from installing, sharing or creating different applications. But Blackberry became popular because it was the first phone that allowed you to get your email on your phone, definitely not because it is a Smartphone.
• Windows Mobile- Microsoft created a mini computer in a phone. It is has the ability for users to install and share applications, but people really haven’t been into purchasing it.
• iPhone- Really started the launch of Smartphones and all the hoopla. Although Apple controls what applications get approval and which do not. There are a TON of apps. Due to the closed syste

  m the security is pretty damn good. When you think about it though, if you have never been outside the castle walls- how are you to know what the world is like? Or born into a country like North Korea where you can’t think and you are told what is and isn’t okay. Makes you wonder what’s beyond the Apple walls!

• Android aka “Droid”- the OS was designed to resemble a PC and be able to run many different applications  all at once which aren’t to be monitored, per se, by a central entity. This is all great but this does make the system vulnerable.

Recent study that was conducted ran these numbers: there will be forty eight thousand apps available to Android users, about twenty percent of the apps will require a third party or access from some other entity. There are some hackers that perhaps develop apps to do hateful things like bank fraud, identity theft, and so much more.

About five percent of apps have the capability to place a call to any number without user’s permission. Two percent of apps have that capability to send SMS messages (text messages) without user’s permission. The percentages seem small but in ratio with the overall number, the likeliness of bad luck, and the lack of filtering one should be aware at least.

Just be aware, take caution of the sites you visit, and easy with the downloading! Do a little research and check out comments and such.

How exciting!! Another Android will soon hit the market. You never know what they will come up with next; I think that is what is so cool about Droid. Anywho… the latest is the Motorola Charm (snazzy name).Later on this summer, I bet when fall hits and everyone is headed back to school will be the release.

Android 2.1 which has an improved version of the Motoblur with resizable widgets (watch this video if you aren’t sure what “resizing widgets” means). Handling your social-networking has also been taken into consideration with new ways of juggling it all.

The design alone is what makes the Charm that more appealing. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, a large touch screen with a pinch to zoom all with a backtrack navigation which is located on the back. Additionally the camera is 3 megapixels with Kodak Perfect Touch technology, crystal Talk Plus technology for the audio and full HTML Web browser with Flash Lite support.

As you can see, this will be quite the catch come the end of the summer. T-Mobile will be carrying this so be sure to look out for it!

Smart phones are more and more like our laptops/desktops. The excitement over all the new apps that are available has brought up some other issues. One being security, since Google has brought an open system in allowing any developer to create apps security risks have begun. Currently Google is working on getting something in place in order to protect people from apps that are created to be vicious.

Norton  one of the big guys that many of us use as virus protectors for our laptops can now be downloaded for free on your phone. There or some other perks to having Norton on your phone, be sure to check it out !

That is what a lot of cell phone manufactures are doing with Droid. Droid is actually own by Lucas Films (the dude that directed Star Wars and all those other awesome movies) Verizon is paying dues to Lucas Films for the Droid name.

Companies like HTC, Motorola, & Sprint have all used the names differently in pushing certain phones. In the case of Motorola they have been producing a lot of these phones but allow Droid to do all the advertising, in the end you just see that it is a Droid and Motorola’s name is nowhere to be found. They miss out on the boom with the name.

Which leaves us with the Droid Shadow, not out on the market it yet but was leaked with some photos, the phone will have a 8MP camera with the capabilities of a 720p video recording. There’s lots of other cool editions to this phone.

Most people I would assume are “crossovers” they use both Google and Apple products, not totally devout Droid users. IPods were the first big thing really to hit the market when it came to personal players. Of course being Apple products everything has to be a closed and monitored system.  This is exactly why we are stuck with our music on itunes.

There’s an application for your Droid now that is similar but now for your phone. Double Twist!! I’ll say it again, DOUBLE TWIST! You can transfer your song ratings, play accounts, songs in your library, playlists, videos and podcasts.  The nice thing is that since you are already familiar with iTunes you will be able to maneuver this app with no prob.

Other than being so fantastic in transferring all your stuff, for FREE- you can use both MACs and PCs!! Yay for that!

Apple is not one to play fair nor are they the type of company to be humble and not slander others. This was made apparent when the whole controversy came about with Adobe.

Steve Jobs the head honcho over at Apple decided to start bashing Adobe. Pretty crazy idea in that Adobe monopolizes flash on the internet. This in turn just caused Adobe to start putting more efforts into Smartphones & Droids.

Now Apple has decided to dispute a national study done by an outside source over the selling of iPhones and Android phones. The survey was about 150,000 survey takers. That was too limited for Apple’s liking. Although the spokes person for Apple has some pretty good stats they forgot to mention that as time goes on, Apple is beginning to become heavily reliant on foreign sales. Also, the limited number of carriers-Apple officially only goes with AT&T where has Droid is carried by most if not all the major carriers here in the U.S.
