Smart phones are more and more like our laptops/desktops. The excitement over all the new apps that are available has brought up some other issues. One being security, since Google has brought an open system in allowing any developer to create apps security risks have begun. Currently Google is working on getting something in place in order to protect people from apps that are created to be vicious.

Norton  one of the big guys that many of us use as virus protectors for our laptops can now be downloaded for free on your phone. There or some other perks to having Norton on your phone, be sure to check it out !

Google will be releasing their e-book store her pretty quick.  According to Google they left it vague as to sometime this summer. Many other big book store competitors who have come forward in the e-book market who have begun creating their own: Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the already established Apple which has its own initiative around the iPad.

The mission statement Google has for the e-book is “The Book on Google: Is the Future of Publishing in the Cloud?”  Google Editions will be a browser based service and there for it will hold your purchases offline but keep a digital bookshelf for you.

Google Editions will work with your iPad, your HTC Droid Incredible or your laptop! So far due to the lawsuit that has been taking place between Google, authors and publishers. So far it will only be books that have been granted permission to Google.

Now that phones are our mini computers which come with many problems that computers have. No I’m not just talking about messed up keyboards or crappy wireless. I’m talk about viruses!

That is right not only can you get damage to your craptop ( my lingo word for lappy aka laptop) you can get malicious, hateful, yucky junk on your phones now. One of the COOLEST capabilities of the latest Droid phones is the apps. Largely the free availability of these neat apps makes it more accessible to various people financial levels.

There are so many smart brainy people out there in the world that, yes, not ALL of them work for GOOGLE. They are smart and capable of building these apps and posting them on the net for anyone to use. (Thank you to those of you, thank you kindly) Although the downside is that there are still some haters out there in the world, not just the ones that jump on planes and make us deal with hateful airport security but ones that build apps that tear up our phones and cause awful problems.

This is where the iPhone/Apple is trying to hold the market. Since most of their phones and apps are on LOCKDOWN which is a pain in the ass. They have come forward sharing that their apps are verified and looked over thoroughly before they are posted on the market for people to download. Which is super cool for their users, especially for all the money they pay for their services.

Since the Droid has hit the market it has snowballed so fast! Which has not given much a “time out” to reevaluate and make adjustments. This is all being done as everything is flying by. Leading to all this Google along with the Droid folks who helped create this amazing piece of technology that even myself, the (SO NOT techie kind) could navigate use and enjoy! I have faith that this issue will be resolved some how.  Until than, be safe on what you are downloading, even from the market place.
