There are so many new phones coming out and the new year will bring a whole lot more. Which means, what the heck will be the popular? The best? Ugh it gets so flippin overwhelming.

There are two different perspectives/arguments that are looked at. The competition between Apple and Android and what it will look like for 2011 what could be expected.

First gadget expert says that both Apple and Android will both be successful but for two different reasons. Apple is able to charge quite a bit of money for their products and stay at the higher end of the market. Apple is very good at coming up with new ideas and implementing them into their products. Since they do control all of their hardware and software for their devices it gives them the leverage to have more control over their market.

Second gadget expert believes that iOs ecosystem that Apple has is a older system but when you add all the new and sophisticated applications it really is a calculable difference. Android’s business goal is trying out something that has not been done before ( I assume the open systems and what not) but is definitely risky.

I’m more inclined to agree with the second gadget expert. You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome. Cell phones are the wave of the future and an industry that is growing at a rapid rate. In the end, I still love Android! Ha! Go figure! Without risks there are no great achievements… Android is paving the way and I’m happy to be a part of that!

As posted below the Droid Spy was an App that could be downloaded on to just about any android device. It allowed for text messages to be forwarded to another phone and to allow others to access the activities of the phone. The gimmick behind pushing this app is for those that are concerned that their partner is cheating on them.

Now it has been pulled off of the Android Market they felt as though that it did not follow the guidelines in order to qualify to be on the Android Market.

If you think about it, there are some serious dangers to this. Especially since the Droid Spy is not detectable once downloaded, although not available on Android Market the possibility of still accessing is possible.

This brings up many more concerns. Like, should people be concerned about others knowing their where abouts? Specifically a partner?

Android phones are by far some bad ass phones that can do so much!! Multitasking, free apps, and so much much more! Except I found my battery to really suck!

I’m like this nerdy person who has to carry a USB charger or my cell charger anywhere I go. It’s like having a kid or something planning ahead and figuring where I’ll be and if there will a power source. It really is ridiculous. I’m sure that the manufactures are trying to find a way to fix this problem. Until then I’m like an Android Mom who has to plan out her day because her Android phone has some “power outages“.

Wifi is a power sucker, keeping your wifi off when you are not using it helps, the GPS is the same way. Although the article Improve Android battery life: Here’s how did discuss how your bluetooth can also be another form of battery loss. Most of us keep our bluetooth going. There were some other good suggestions in it. I recommend a quick glance at least.

How exciting!! Another Android will soon hit the market. You never know what they will come up with next; I think that is what is so cool about Droid. Anywho… the latest is the Motorola Charm (snazzy name).Later on this summer, I bet when fall hits and everyone is headed back to school will be the release.

Android 2.1 which has an improved version of the Motoblur with resizable widgets (watch this video if you aren’t sure what “resizing widgets” means). Handling your social-networking has also been taken into consideration with new ways of juggling it all.

The design alone is what makes the Charm that more appealing. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, a large touch screen with a pinch to zoom all with a backtrack navigation which is located on the back. Additionally the camera is 3 megapixels with Kodak Perfect Touch technology, crystal Talk Plus technology for the audio and full HTML Web browser with Flash Lite support.

As you can see, this will be quite the catch come the end of the summer. T-Mobile will be carrying this so be sure to look out for it!

Apparently the grand coffee chain that’s like a plague to hit human beings  has decided to give out something free! Nope not coffee, but that other precious thing we like to use while drinking coffee at the coffee shop.  WIFI!!!!!!!!

Yup that’s right according to this article we will finally be able to get some damn free WIFI! It was always a pain in the ass when traveling or just out and about, you see a Starbucks so convenient but only if you had some cell phone carrier. Hell I don’t even really know what you had to have. This is totally helpful for those of us that use the wifi on our droids..

That is what a lot of cell phone manufactures are doing with Droid. Droid is actually own by Lucas Films (the dude that directed Star Wars and all those other awesome movies) Verizon is paying dues to Lucas Films for the Droid name.

Companies like HTC, Motorola, & Sprint have all used the names differently in pushing certain phones. In the case of Motorola they have been producing a lot of these phones but allow Droid to do all the advertising, in the end you just see that it is a Droid and Motorola’s name is nowhere to be found. They miss out on the boom with the name.

Which leaves us with the Droid Shadow, not out on the market it yet but was leaked with some photos, the phone will have a 8MP camera with the capabilities of a 720p video recording. There’s lots of other cool editions to this phone.

Most people I would assume are “crossovers” they use both Google and Apple products, not totally devout Droid users. IPods were the first big thing really to hit the market when it came to personal players. Of course being Apple products everything has to be a closed and monitored system.  This is exactly why we are stuck with our music on itunes.

There’s an application for your Droid now that is similar but now for your phone. Double Twist!! I’ll say it again, DOUBLE TWIST! You can transfer your song ratings, play accounts, songs in your library, playlists, videos and podcasts.  The nice thing is that since you are already familiar with iTunes you will be able to maneuver this app with no prob.

Other than being so fantastic in transferring all your stuff, for FREE- you can use both MACs and PCs!! Yay for that!
