Oooo! This is so neat! A droid app that has practical use- that is what I’m TALKIN ABOUT! Dragons are practical I bet you didn’t know that! They fly and have fire why wouldn’t they have practicality? The app is called “Dragon Go!” in some ways it is a virtual assistant it uses your voice and will provide you with any questions you may have on anything you ask it.

Demands or requests you take your pick and tell your Dragon “Make reservation for Artichoke Café tonight at 8pm”.. BAAM! Confirm your reservation in Open Table app which is available with the Dragon Go app (and anything else you may want or need).

Dragon Go droid app is great because it gives YOU the USER the CHOICE as to what you would like to use and how you would like your information to be displayed. While the app searches for your information you can have it displayed by horizontally and choose the apps that you want it to come up in.

In other words instead of using the Google app as the default search browser once Dragon Go searches you can go back and forth between Wikipedia, news outlets etc in order to gather information.

Nom, Nom, Nom, that’s all I have to say when it comes to Android food apps! So delicious and yummy and you will always find a great place to eat. Want sushi? Must have pizza? Punch it into your app and directions will appear with reviews. Super handy when out in a far off land in which you have never been and has questionable restaurants that appear to be both a food joint and gas station. Bail out in that case!

Helping you in everyday life…

Technology is really carrying things to large proportions, perhaps you are making a soup that calls for lots of canned tomatoes? In this case your app would come in handy directing you to the nearest grocery store that happen to have a sale going on. Baam, saving money each step of the way!

Android’s Recent Stats-W.T.F!

Google Android news, now that Android devices have been on the market for a while, there is now an opportunity to start researching and see the impact in which they are having. Cost is the biggest item in which is researched how much is Android making and the amount in comparison to Apple IPhones.

The results

The study indicated that Android hardware failures were more common than Apple’s iPhones as well as BlackBerry phones. When I read that I was like W.T.F they are all cell phones they all break I swear I heard someone in the a coffee shop the other day say she had her eighth iPhone in a year! Then this, oh come on you gotta be kidding me. But apparently not as a whole population the stats are in. Android cell phones have blown up the market largely in part because some models are made so cheaply, which in turn has brought more manufactures on board to produce. Google Android boom came from this!

What does this mean? The impact…

Android had definitely brought the smart phone to the masses but as it was indicated it comes with a price tag. There is no free lunch and everything in life is a tradeoff. I personally love my G1 (ancient I know) I admit I have dropped it one to many times, the text is questionable at times so much so, I want to throw my phone at a wall. But overall it rocks, like having a family member you love them and they are awesome but sometimes just no bueno!

Ultimately Android will take over the world (aka Pinky and the Brain)

Apple had a few roll outs before Android dropped their droid bombs so there was some time to work on glitches. As with technology in general the first few generations usually need major tweaking but as time goes on, the tweaking becomes minor. Just give it a few generations and it is going to get even better-some could call that love.

Like many other smart phone operating systems, Google android is capable of many things. With a smart phone utilizing android OS, you can play music or video, surf the web, e-mail, text, organize your schedule, trade stocks and find maps. Android is somewhat of a newcomer to the mobile phone operating system market, so one might question why android is the best option. Android’s biggest advantage is that its development is open source. What I mean by that is that anyone can take a look at the source code for android apps and anyone can modify said source code. The implication of this is that you have an entire community of people developing and improving the operating system instead of restricting access and input to a small group of professional designers. This means that apps work better, are better tailored to actual real world needs, and that any flaws are quickly updated. It’s pretty easy to see why people like open source development so much!

If you’ve been reading closely, you should know by now that Google android is a mobile phone operating system that has a wide variety of uses and uses open source development. Basically if you want your smart phone to do damn near anything and wanted to work on a regular basis (unlike professionally/closed source developed apps and O.S.’s) then Google android is probably the operating system for you!
