That is what a lot of cell phone manufactures are doing with Droid. Droid is actually own by Lucas Films (the dude that directed Star Wars and all those other awesome movies) Verizon is paying dues to Lucas Films for the Droid name.

Companies like HTC, Motorola, & Sprint have all used the names differently in pushing certain phones. In the case of Motorola they have been producing a lot of these phones but allow Droid to do all the advertising, in the end you just see that it is a Droid and Motorola’s name is nowhere to be found. They miss out on the boom with the name.

Which leaves us with the Droid Shadow, not out on the market it yet but was leaked with some photos, the phone will have a 8MP camera with the capabilities of a 720p video recording. There’s lots of other cool editions to this phone.

Google has been giving an extra incentive with the phone carriers who agree to carry Android devices. They are giving phone carriers a piece of the pie, filling the glass up, they are giving them …. drum roll please.. revenue shares of advertising. May seem kinda… “wth hell” but really that’s some sweet cash. Of course the phone companies are not willing to comment on it but according to moconews.net this new practice has begun.
This all came about when people were asking questions as to why Google has grown so fast. The rate in which this company has expanded and really the number of handsets they have sold just within the past year-estimations run to about 22 million handsets. That’s  HUGE!!

Google has set the bar. They have been innovative and resourceful. They will continue to-they have to, Apple just may beat out Microsoft this year. That would leave just Google to compete. Markets do so much better when there is competition.

When the iPhone came out it swept the market. Now its main competitor is the next smart phone- Google Droid.  It is the latest smart phone that is manufactured by Motorola. Before the Droid it the market pictures and other advertising started to take an affect. They showed up on various websites and a few on TV but it was very ambiguous.

The Droid has Verizon, Google and Motorola that is behind all the technology and development. Those companies are not only huge worldwide but also have trusted reputations throughout. All of which is why the Droid came to.  Having those “heavy weights” behind it were part of the advertising and getting the word out about it, but there wasn’t much advertising and the Droid didn’t hit the market like the iPhone did.

Droids are taking over the WORLD! It is so exciting really, for the longest time Apple was the top dog. All the while Google was buying its time building one of the most AMAZING pieces of technology humans have ever seen. Mad credit goes out to a company such as Google for seeing the potential in so many different people and being able to harness such talent and to really impact the world, in a positive way.

In many ways the Droid phone is an achievement in human thought processes. I’m sure it was Google’s intent to be able to build a bridge between the human mind and how a cell phone should work, just the natural way to navigate around and to apply different concepts. It is so not complicated which is the coolest part! It is self explanatory and who knew that once you opened the market up to anyone, any developer you brought so many possibilities to the world. It also I think in part plays a good role in uniting many people in a common interest. Now more and more people are going to forums and discussing technical and practical issues. Really teaming up and brainstorming for resolutions and new ideas. The pros and not so pros with technology.

Mobile phones are being used more frequently than PC now. This has brought the $$ signs to advertisers now. Even the other phone carriers. People tend to click on more of the ads and such while surfing on their mobile phones rather than the common PC. It is now BOOMING when it comes to advertising on mobile devices.

Google has begun allowing advertisers to aim for the high end and certain devices including the support for those campaigns. The fact that Google allows developers from various backgrounds, the opportunity to get involved which will help bring down costs, will bring advanced technology to all of us. Many of the GPS applications have brought more growth in advertising due to the location based services.

This company has done so well that it did not have to push a campaign for one of its latest phones. The media coverage alone was what did the work for them. Brilliant!
